Glenda Toews is an award-winning Canadian memoirist whose work sits at the intersection of true crime, psychological non-fiction, and literary storytelling. Her debut memoir, Spinning on a Barstool,
won gold in Memoir and silver in Overall Non-Fiction at the 2023 Reader Views Awards.
After being targeted by Canadian con man Daryl Heiligsetzer,
she turned the police’s advice—“You can tell your story”—into a mission.
Her work casts a stark light on the psychology of fraud, the emotional wreckage it leaves behind, and the resilience required to rebuild.
A high-school dropout turned literary award-winner, Glenda is known for her sharp voice, dark wit, and fearless examination of human behaviour. When she isn’t writing, she’s pouring pints at Corky's pub or roasting ribeye over a fire with her husband, Haney, in the place they love best—the Chilliwack River Valley
The above is my professional Bio
The regular part of me is sitting in my easy chair with Petey the beagle on my lap. Haney's on the sofa with his cell phone in one hand and a coffee in another. We are still in the fifth wheel, going on six years now.
Sometimes dreams take time.
I'm still pouring pints at Corkys. If you're in the area, come and say HI! bring your book, I'll be so happy to sign it for you!
